Academic Curriculum

  ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE/EVALUATION PATTERN :
 

Assessments are inbuilt into the curriculum to provide appropriate judgment about the academic and non academic performance of a child where stress will be laid on strengthening the application of knowledge rather than cramming.

The evaluation pattern adopted by the school is a Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) of the learning process.

The Students will be evaluated in scholastic as well as co-scholastic areas and the records will be communicated to the parents and regularly reviewed.

The Whole session is divided in two terms, viz 
Term I, (From April to September) and
Term II (From October to March)

Each term comprises of Formative Assessments (FA) and Summative Assessment (SA).

 
Pre- School :
 
  • School will have quarterly system of assessment.
  • Students will be graded every quarter base on test skills of self learning, sound thinking, effective reading and clear writing.
  • School will not give prior dates for assessment for preschool children.
   
 
For Primary(Classes I to V) :
 

There will be provision of 6(Six) Formative Assessments. No summative Assessment as per the guidelines by CBSE.

Each Formative Assessment will comprise of Written and Non written Evaluation.

The witten evaluation will be conducted Six times in the whole academic session (three times in each term), while Non written Evauation will be conduced continuously during the normal class room teaching schedule.

Total number of FAs for the main subjects in each term will be 3 (three). Periodic grades(CCE)at the end of evey stage will be awarded on the basis of the performances as shown in best 2 two FAs.

Report Book/ Progress Report :

Progress of the student will be charted in two stages as

Term I, (From April to September) and
Term II (From October to March)

Total number of FAs for the main subjects in each term will be 3 (three). Periodic grades(CCE)at the end of evey stage will be awarded on the basis of the performances as shown in best 2 two FAs.

Grading Scale:
As per the CBSE guidelines Students will be graded on a 5 point Scale given below:

Outstanding A*
Excellent:    
A
Very Good: B
Good: C
Average D

 

The areas of CCE are as below :

For Primary(classes I to V)

Scholastic Areas:  English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Third language for Class V only( Gujarati / Sanskrit)

Co-scholastic Areas:

Music, Dance, Art & Craft, Games, Computer Application, Personal and Social qualities and Attitudes and Values

Primary Classes(I to V) will have only Six(6) Formative Assessments(FA), No Summative Assessments(SA).

Secondary Classes(VI to IX) :
 

Secondary Classes(VI to IX) will have four Formative Assessments(FA), and two Summative Assessments(SA).

Assessment of Scholastic Areas Part 1 will be reported twice in a year and Co-scholastic Areas Part 2 and 3 will be reported once in a year.

The nine point grading scale for measuring Scholastic Achievements and five point grading scale for Co- Scholastic Areas is given below:
